Michael was born in Edinburgh in 1911. He was a film actor, who later moved into television announcing with Associated Rediffusion (1955 – 1956), when it started broadcasting to the London area.
He joined Scottish Television, as its chief announcer and newscaster in 1957. He stayed until c. 1960.
His acting credits date from 1948 until 1976 and include:
- Boyd QC (1961);
- This Man Craig (1966);
- The Stanley Baxter Show (1968 and 1971);
- Dr Finlay’s Casebook (1970);
- Sutherland’s Law (1973 and 1976).
