Michael was a former actor and BBC TV network announcer/director.
His acting credits include:
- Coronation Street (1966 and 1968);
- Z Cars (Police Cadet Rossiter, 23rd – 24th August 1971 and Cadet/PC Peter Preston, 12th November 1973 and 18th March 1974);
- Death or Glory Boy (1974).
He joined BBC Presentation as a network TV announcer in 1974 and remained in that role until 17th March 1982.
He voiced presentation trails for BBC Television (1976). He was also an announcer on the BBC World Service.
He gave up announcing to become an assistant producer/network director in BBC TV Presentation.
He retired from the BBC in 2002.
Michael died in July 2012, having been diagnosed with lung cancer months earlier.
