Manali, also known as Mona, developed a passion for meteorology whilst studying geology and geography at Keele University.
Following a subsequent master’s degree in geographical information systems, she joined the Met Office as a graduate trainee.
Manali began as a software programmer and developed software now used by the Football Association in determining weather conditions for matches.
She quickly progressed and in 2000 was recruited to the Met Office Media Centre, moving into business management with a focus on delivering weather services to independent media customers.
Manali first appeared as an ITV National weather forecaster in February 2008 and has been on screen since May 2014.
On 28th September 2012, she presented her final regional weather forecast ahead of maternity leave. She returned to ITV London on 14th January 2013.
As of 5th November 2013, she has appeared across all ITV regions as an occasional relief weather presenter, including spells at STV (2011 and September 2013) and ITV London.
She was on Christmas Day duty on ITV in 2017 and 2025.
After 15 years, which included a weekly commute to Exeter, she left the Met Office in 2014 to join ITV as head of weather.
In this role, Manali oversees the delivery of national and regional weather services across all ITV broadcasts whilst managing online and social media output.
Manali also ensures compliance with all broadcasting requirements and delivers commercial agreements through the provision of targeted sponsorship campaigns for weather across all ITV platforms.
A core part of her role is managing and maintaining the availability of presenters; in some cases, this includes her covering shifts, so she appears on both local and national weather bulletins.
Manali lives in South West London and is married with a son.
