Born in Amersham in 1973, Tori Lacey studied for a BSc in biomedical sciences at the University of Bradford before spending a year in Australia working as a nutritional consultant at a health retreat.
Upon returning to the UK, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry.
Selected to join the Met Office in 2000, Tori undertook an intensive training programme – first completing the IFC meteorology foundation course at the Met Office Training Centre, then broadcast meteorology training at the BBC Weather Centre from April 2001.
She began broadcasting in August 2001 on BBC World, subsequently appearing across a range of television and radio channels, including BBC News 24, whilst also providing information and articles for the BBC website.
In her early broadcasts she was known as Victoria Good, later changing to Tori Good before becoming Tori Lacey following her marriage.
Whilst working with Simon Mayo on BBC Radio 5 Live, they discussed her name off-air and she remarked that it sounded like an X-rated porn star – a comment she mentioned on-air, which he found amusing.
Tori broadcast her final BBC weather forecast on Friday 12th June 2009 (12.30pm on the Victoria Derbyshire radio show), prior to maternity leave.
She moved with her family to Italy and returned in mid-2010, but subsequently left the Met Office and the BBC Weather Centre in January 2011.
Tori continued working freelance for BBC London for several months before returning to live in Italy with her family.
In February 2023, Lacey joined ITV as a part-time weekend weather presenter for ITV Granada, based in Salford Quays. She completed her training with Chris Page and appeared on screen from March.
She later presented, within the northern weather hub, on Yorkshire TV’s Calendar, Tyne Tees TV, Border TV and Ulster TV (January 2026).
Tori lives in West Yorkshire.

Correspondence
Paul R. Jackson corresponded with Tori in November 2017.
“My family moved from Italy to Dubai in September 2012. My husband is a pilot hence the peripatetic lifestyle.
“Our daughter is now eight and we foster and adopt dogs in need to complete our home.
“Would love to go back to weather forecasting broadcasting but the nature of the job has now changed so much – there is more emphasis on the presentation side and not so much on the science/forecasting so it is all rather dumbed down these days which is a shame.
“I was going to join the Al Jazeera team in Doha in summer 2017 until the political climate banned all UAE residents (which I am currently) from travelling to Qatar which ultimately meant it would be impossible for me to do so.
“It would have meant being reunited with my former colleagues Steff Gaulter, Everton Fox, Rob McElwee and Richard Angwin so it was very disappointing.
“I would very much like to get involved with BBC London again, but I am not in the UK for long enough each summer – but perhaps one day it would be a possibility as we are hoping to move back to the UK in the next few years.”
