Lindsey graduated with a BA in drama and theatre arts from the University of Birmingham (2005) before completing a diploma from the Birmingham School of Acting (2007).
Lindsey acted in three short films:
- Spirited (2009);
- Prelude: Words to Music (2009);
- Homoworld (2010).
In June 2013, Lindsey joined BBC Radio 5 Live, based in Media City UK, Salford, as a travel reporter working on the breakfast and drivetime radio shows.
She presented BBC Schools Radio programme Something to Think About (January – June 2014) and was the courtside reporter for ZEO Netball Superleague for Sky Sports from April to May 2014.
Lindsey was the lead presenter on the BBC Red Button for:
- Springwatch Extra (May – June 2015);
- Digital presenter/reporter on Autumnwatch Unsprung (BBC Two);
- Autumnwatch Extra (October – November 2015);
- Springwatch Unsprung co-presented with Chris Packham (2016 – 2017).
Chapman gained network TV exposure when she co-presented Big Blue UK with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (BBC One, August 2015).
Lindsey was a roving reporter for Songs of Praise (BBC One, July – September 2015).

Since April 2016, she has been the lead presenter on BBC Arts Online covering key campaigns including:
- Shakespeare Day Live;
- Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2016 – 2017);
- #DreamLive at Shakespeare’s Globe (2016);
- Get Creative with BBC Young Dancer 2017 and the BBC Big Painting Challenge;
- Hay Festival (2017).
Lindsey was a panellist on Curious Creatures (BBC Two, 2017 – 2018).
Since January 2018, she has been a freelance lead commentator for international netball for Sky Sports and since July 2019 for BBC Sport.
Lindsey has been a freelance continuity announcer for BBC One, based in Salford, since approximately July 2020.
