1989 The BBC announces that Moira Stuart will join the Six o'Clock News (BBC One) presenting team, appearing on Mondays and Fridays. She would continue to present weekend bulletins also.
1989 Peter Sissons presents the Six o'Clock News (BBC One) for the first time. He joined the BBC earlier in the year from ITN and also presented Question Time (BBC One), from June 1989.
1989 John Humphrys presents the Nine o'Clock News (BBC One) for the first time since its relaunch on 31st October 1988.
