Robertson, Rachel
Rachel is a former In-vision announcer at Grampian. She went on to announce nationally for BBC TV (dates TBC).
Owen, Jamie
Jamie was an announcer with BBC Wales TV (early 1990s – 1994), having arrived from BBC Radio 4, where he was a newsreader and announcer. He left BBC Wales continuity to front Wales Today (1994 – January 2018). He also presented a daily morning phone-in programme on BBC Radio Wales. He left BBC Wales in January 2018 to take up a new role with international broadcaster TRT World.
On the announcement of his departure from BBC Wales, Rhodri Talfan Davies, director of BBC Wales, said: “Jamie has helped chronicle every twist and turn in our nation’s story over more than two decades.
“A natural and instinctive broadcaster, he’s made an immense contribution on both radio and television. We all wish him well on his latest international assignment.”
Garmon Rhys, BBC Wales’ head of news, added: “I want to thank Jamie for his huge contribution to BBC Wales over many years.
“A unique broadcaster, he’s been an integral part of BBC Wales Today for over two decades.”
Macann, Peter
Peter was born in Tehran, Iran. His father, as a Colonel in the Indian Army, was Consul in Ahwaz at the time. Peter spent the first four years of his life in India, before arriving in the UK in 1948.
…Elias, Anwen
Anwen had a brief stint (c. six months) as a continuity director/announcer, working on BBC One Wales and BBC Two Wales. She then moved into an assistant media planner role within the Presentation department.
Osborough, Ann
A regular voice in the BBC Northern Ireland TV continuity booth in the 1980s. During the 1990s and for much of the 2000s, she worked on a freelance basis and could be heard covering portions of the daytime programme schedule. Ann’s final shift in continuity was in 2009.
Barth, Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie currently works as a continuity announcer/director on BBC One Scotland. The role previously also covered BBC Two Scotland but that channel was replaced by the network version of BBC Two, just prior to the launch of the BBC Scotland channel. Although the dedicated Scottish content channel has its own team of announcers, some BBC One Scotland voices can also be heard on the BBC Scotland channel.
Cameron, Douglas
Douglas was a BBC TV network announcer (1964 – 1968). He presented BBC Radio 4’s Today (1971 – 1974) and later was a newscaster and broadcaster with Independent Radio News. He was a programme presenter on London’s LBC, and then royal correspondent for IRN. He is also believed to have been an announcer with Scottish TV.
McDowell, Andrea
Scottish voice who served an attachment as a BBC TV network announcer (1989). She was also a BBC World Service TV announcer (1992). She worked briefly as an announcer for ITV Carlton in London (1993). She has also worked as an announcer with BSB, Living TV, BBC Scotland and Channel 5.
…Beaven, Steven
Steve was a regular voice on BBC One Wales, BBC Two Wales and BBC Choice Wales (2000 – 2002). Shortly after leaving BBC Wales, he moved to TV Centre as a network director on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Four.
Steve later returned to his roots and worked at ITV News in the Central South region. On any given day he might be production assisting, reporting, and/or producing.
Marriott, Vicki
Vicki worked on attachment as a BBC TV network announcer (1988 – 1989). She later worked as a producer in the Presentation department.
