Roger Ollerearnshaw was born in Penzance. He did his National Service in the RAF as a physical training instructor and for two years was the RAF’s high-jump champion.

Susan presented various BBC TV children’s series during the 1970s: Country Search (BBC One, 1975 – 1977); Play It Again… (BBC One, 1975); BBC Manchester’s The Sunday Gang (BBC One, 1976); Horses Galore (BBC One, 1977 – 1979); BBC Manchester’s sports series Stopwatch (BBC One, 1978 – 1980). She was also a guest on All-Star Record Breakers (BBC One, 1975 – 1980), a panellist on Star Turn (BBC One, 1976, 1977 and 1979), and a reporter on We’re Going Places (BBC One, 1979).

Caroline was briefly a TSW announcer before moving to Anglia as an announcer. She progressed to front the main evening Anglia News in the west of the region.

Balshaw, Samantha
(Formerly Samantha Howkins). Samantha was a TSW in-vision continuity announcer and assistant transmission controller. She moved to London to work for Carlton in 1993 and then for Meridian in Southampton. In 2003, eight years after joining Meridian, Samantha took some time off to look after her children. In 2006, she joined Sky as a transmission controller, working on the movie channels.
Appleton, Trevor
TSW’s long-serving weatherman, replaced by TV-am’s Trish Williamson, and then Andy Yeatman from the local Met Office. After leaving TSW, Trevor continued to forecast for the BBC’s Look North, and now combines this with a full-time job as a Rights of Way Officer in Yorkshire.
