John Braban began his broadcasting career as an announcer with both ABC Television and ATV London around 1959, establishing himself early in the competitive world of British commercial television.
His voice lent authority to two of Roberta Leigh’s animated productions: Send for Dithers in 1966 and Wonder Boy and Tiger in 1972.
From 1968 to 1974, Braban served as a BBC TV network announcer, and his distinctive tones became a fixture of BBC presentation trails for the better part of two decades, from approximately 1969 through to 1990.
His television presenting credits include:
- Fashion Fare (1973);
- Chelsea Flower Show (1973).
John Braban died in May 1990; the precise date remains unrecorded.
