Daniel was born in Lewisham. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Westminster (2012).
His initial broadcasting experience was on Smoke Radio, the university’s radio station (October 2009 – May 2012), then on the late-night World Music Show on Bang Radio (now Beat London) (October 2012 – April 2013).
In May 2014, he had work experience as a continuity announcer at Channel 4 and E4, with his first announcement being Bob’s Burgers on E4.
Shortly after, Dan was the voice of BBC Radio 1Xtra and voiced campaigns including Sport Relief content with Greg James. Dan continues to voice radio campaigns with the BBC.
He was the first ever continuity announcer at BET International for their UK Channel, working in the United States and London (July 2014 – November 2016).
He presented a music programme on www.radiokingonline.com (October 2014 – April 2016) and since August 2020, has broadcast a two-hour show on Worldwide FM (a station launched by Giles Peterson).
He was a team assistant working in radio administration, working behind-the-scenes to learn radio.
He became an assistant producer working across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and Asian Network (November 2014 – March 2016).
He was an assistant producer for production company Somethin’ Else, working on various BBC Radio productions (March 2016 – April 2017).

In January 2020, he joined the team of freelance BBC TV continuity announcers. Since then, he’s been heard on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Three.
On Sunday 31st July 2022, he introduced the Women’s Euro Finals at Wembley, where England’s Lionesses beat Germany 2-1. It was watched by a peak BBC One audience of 17.4 million.
In November 2023, Dan reported for BBC Radio 5 Live, on the Watford v Rotherham football match. And in June 2024, he joined Jazz FM to present Jazz Hop on Saturday evenings.

“I went to Channel 4 workshops, where Gabriele Power connected with me and Kelsey Bennett trained me.”
How did you end up joining BBC TV Presentation?
“Phil Vowels heard my demo I sent him, through Jay Davidson and Josh Ryan from the BBC. I was trained by Delroy Haynes and Phil. I’m a freelancer based in London.
“I had been in training since January 2020, but due to Covid, my first broadcast was 12th October 2020 on BBC One at 3.34pm as Escape to the Country ended.”
