Enfys moved from a BBC Wales presentation assistant position to a TV continuity director/announcer post in 1998.
Owen, Jamie
Jamie was an announcer with BBC Wales TV (early 1990s – 1994), having arrived from BBC Radio 4, where he was a newsreader and announcer. He left BBC Wales continuity to front Wales Today (1994 – January 2018). He also presented a daily morning phone-in programme on BBC Radio Wales. He left BBC Wales in January 2018 to take up a new role with international broadcaster TRT World.
On the announcement of his departure from BBC Wales, Rhodri Talfan Davies, director of BBC Wales, said: “Jamie has helped chronicle every twist and turn in our nation’s story over more than two decades.
“A natural and instinctive broadcaster, he’s made an immense contribution on both radio and television. We all wish him well on his latest international assignment.”
Garmon Rhys, BBC Wales’ head of news, added: “I want to thank Jamie for his huge contribution to BBC Wales over many years.
“A unique broadcaster, he’s been an integral part of BBC Wales Today for over two decades.”
Elias, Anwen
Anwen had a brief stint (c. six months) as a continuity director/announcer, working on BBC One Wales and BBC Two Wales. She then moved into an assistant media planner role within the Presentation department.
Beaven, Steven
Steve was a regular voice on BBC One Wales, BBC Two Wales and BBC Choice Wales (2000 – 2002). Shortly after leaving BBC Wales, he moved to TV Centre as a network director on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Four.
Steve later returned to his roots and worked at ITV News in the Central South region. On any given day he might be production assisting, reporting, and/or producing.
Rees, Richard
Richard was a continuity director/announcer with BBC Wales TV (1980s). It’s believed he later set up his own independent production company.
Twist, Peter
Peter was a continuity director/announcer with BBC Wales TV (early 1990s – mid-1990s). Previously, he had been a commercial producer at Swansea Sound.
Evans, Ceri
Ceri was an announcer with BBC Wales TV (late-1980s to early 1990s). He was a former Swansea Sound presenter. He went on to become a political spin doctor.
Berrington, Ceri
Ceri was a BBC Wales radio and TV announcer (1985 – 2001). She was later in charge of the BBC Radio Wales announcing team. She retired in early 2001.
Price, Gary
Gary was a continuity director/announcer with BBC Wales TV (late-1980s). He’s a former CBC and Red Dragon Radio presenter. He went on to become a specialist music producer for BBC Radio Wales.
Factor, Ilisa
Ilisa presented for Swansea Sound and Red Dragon FM (late-1980s/early 1990s) before joining AA Roadwatch, then BBC Radio Sheffield (October 1991 – October 1994). She later moved to BBC TV News in Norwich and Cambridge (October 1994 – September 1999), working across local TV production for the region – vision mixing, directing live news programmes, floor managing, live studio sound mixing.
Ilisa joined BBC Wales TV presentation as a continuity director/announcer (September 1999 – May 2003). Since then, she’s held various roles within post-production/graphic design – more recently (May 2014 – present), post-production lead.
Roberts, Deloni
Deloni joined BBC Wales in 1980, and was an announcer on radio and TV. She retired in March 1999.
Wyn-Jones, Nia
Nia was a radio and TV continuity director/announcer with BBC Wales TV (1980s – 2001). Latterly, she was in charge of the BBC Radio Cymru announcing team. Nia moved into educational programming. As of June 2005, she’s a freelance writer. Since January 2013, she’s been working for Boom Pictures as an assistant producer and producer.
