Mark joined BBC Wales TV Presentation from Swansea Sound radio (1989). He left the continuity director/announcer role in the mid-1990s to direct news, and would later concentrate on motorsports and front world rallying programmes for BBC network.
Cresswell, Ian
Ian was a BBC Wales TV continuity director/announcer (1994 – 1998). He had previously worked at the BBC World Service. He later moved into management in the BBC Wales TV scheduling department.
James, Steve
Steve is a regular sports presenter and commentator for BBC Wales TV and radio. He was also an occasional TV announcer.
Mackenzie, Gary
Gary is a former ILR presenter with CBC, Red Dragon Radio and Touch radio in Cardiff. He then moved to BBC Wales TV, where he took on a continuity director/announcer role (1997 – TBC). He also presented some editions of the daily Livetime programme for BBC Radio Wales.
Davison, Eleri
Eleri was an assistant in the BBC Wales TV Presentation dept for many years. She moved into the continuity director/announcer role in 1998.
Jones, Geraint
Geraint was a BBC Wales TV continuity director/announcer (1970s – 1990s). Although retired, he announced on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru for quite some time later. He also provided snooker commentary and read the classified results for Wales on Saturday – the BBC One Wales opt out of Final Score.
Matthews, Lisa
Lisa was a presenter with Swansea Sound, where she worked on the late show. She then joined BBC Wales TV presentation, where she worked as a continuity director/announcer (1997 – TBC). From late-1999, she combined this with presentation for BBC Radio Wales. She fronted After Midnight – a pop video-based show on BBC Choice Wales. She also appeared in-vision on BBC 2W, presenting weather forecasts.
White, Geraint
Geraint’s professional career began in IT (July 1994 – March 1999), with various roles in support of IBM mainframe and AS/400 systems. He then moved into broadcasting, with a continuity director/announcer role at BBC Wales TV (March 1999 – December 2014). He was initially BBC Wales staff; he left in November 2007 and returned as a freelance announcer in September 2008.
He joined South Wales Police, as a constable (November 2007 – 2013). After finishing up at the BBC in late-2014, he pursued a career with South Wales Police. He became a chief inspector in December 2017 and, as of March 2019, is based in Swansea.
Geraint’s was the first voice on BBC 2W on 5th November 2001.
Dewitt, Steve
Steve was a presenter on Swansea Sound and BBC Radio Wales. He freelanced as a daytime BBC One Wales announcer (1999 – 2001). He then left broadcasting a ran a company that installed internet terminals in pubs.
Morgan, Lyn
Lyn’s broadcasting career began in radio, with a presenting job at Swansea Sound (May 1978 – July 1982). He then moved to BBC Wales TV, to a continuity director/announcer position (1982 – mid-1990s). He then switched from an on-air role to management. In July 2000, he set up Lyn Morgan Media Consulting and went freelance as a crisis communications and media specialist.
He then spent a number of years at Aberystwyth University (September 2009 – December 2013), initially as head of communications and public affairs and then director of communications. He returned to BBC Wales in February 2014, as an interim senior communications manager, and then communications and engagement manager.
In August 2016, Lyn returned to an on-air role at BBC Wales.
Sweet, Mike
Mike was a continuity director/announcer with BBC Wales TV (1997 – 2000) and was one of the regular team of BBC Choice Wales announcers. In 2000, he moved to ETV Bangladesh, where he was executive producer, news; he remained there until 2002. Later, he was an independent producer in Darwin, Australia (2003 – 2006). By 2008, Mike was working as an independent producer in Athens, Greece.
Dutfield, Steve
Steve was a presenter with Red Dragon FM, Touch radio and AA Roadwatch. He joined BBC Wales TV presentation in March 1999, as a continuity director/announcer.
